Medellín

~3–4 days, after the coffee region — see full itinerary

Overview

"City of Eternal Spring" — mild climate year-round, ~1,500m altitude.

Base

Laureles or El Poblado — choose quieter streets.

Neighborhoods

  • El Poblado — tourist hub, restaurants, nightlife, dance socials (see below)
  • Laureles — quieter, more local
  • Comuna 13 — street art, history, guided tours recommended

Things to do

  • Parque Arví via Metrocable
  • Guatapé + Piedra del Peñol day trip (lake, rock climb, colourful town)
  • Jardín day trip (optional — colonial Andean town)
  • Comuna 13 graffiti tour (optional)
  • City walking tour

Dance

1–2 evenings with class + social. Approach and strategy: Dance opportunities → Medellín.

Notes

Medellín's metro is clean, cheap, and a good way to get around — combine with the Metrocable for hillside neighborhoods.
