Internal flights & transport¶
- Colombia has a dense domestic network (Avianca, LATAM Colombia, Wingo, JetSMART, SATENA, etc.).
- Route for this trip, per the itinerary: Bogotá → Armenia/Pereira (coffee region) → Medellín → Cali (or Santa Marta/Tayrona/Cartagena if the coast alternative is chosen) → Bogotá → London.
- Book 2–3 internal flights about 2–4 weeks before travel for decent prices and convenient times.
- Prefer morning flights where possible (less delay-prone).
- Buses: buy locally; Colombia has extensive long-distance bus networks. Use mainly between regional hubs when flights are inconvenient (e.g. Medellín ↔ Bogotá is ~1h flight or ~9h bus).
