Calendar note (this trip): Cali ~Wed 26 → Sun 30 Aug (checkout Sun for Bogotá before United Mon 23:10). There is no Tuesday in town — so weekly Tuesday mega-exchanges miss this window unless dates shift.

Fit: strong international density if you base at Viajero (or a nearby San Antonio stay and join public salsa / café life). Party-hostel vibe — pick quieter nights if shy.

Ask which night runs 26–30 Aug 2026 and whether drop-in without a course is OK.

Gringo Tuesdays Cali — calendar miss this trip¶

This itinerary: no Tuesday between coffee exit and Sun CLO→BOG — skip unless Cali dates move. High energy (same caveat as Bogotá Gringo Tuesdays).

Dance-floor friends¶

Primary path for this trip: classes with Ricardo / Salsa en Conexión or fallback schools, then one social they recommend. More internationals at tourist-friendly venues; ask explicitly for nights that are not ultra-competitive.

Pasajero Immersive — beginner city modules (strong short-stay fit)¶

Pasajero Immersive (checked Aug 2026): each experience = 1.5 h grammar + 1.5 h real-life immersion (3 h total); packages of 6 h / 9 h available. Beginner (A1–A2) track for travellers; English/French support OK for beginners per their FAQ. Small groups (2–3) or private on request. Book online; WhatsApp listed on site: +57 310 813 6283.

Themes include San Antonio walk, market, boulevard, café conversation, etc. — good shy-friendly structure (guided, small group, time-boxed).

Book one Beginner 3 h module on a morning/afternoon without Ricardo / school salsa.

Toucan Spanish (San Antonio) — private hours + weekly exchange¶

Toucan — Learn Spanish in Cali (checked Aug 2026):

Intensive small group: 20 h/week, Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–1 p.m. (3–7 students) — only if sacrificing dance mornings.
Private 1–2-1 (usually afternoons, 1–4 h) — better fit for this trip.
School at Cra. 10 #1-47 Oeste, Plazoleta de San Antonio (opposite Parque San Antonio).

eslinguaviva.com returned HTTP 500 when checked (Aug 2026) — do not rely on remembered prices. Re-check later or skip; Toucan + Pasajero are enough leads for a short Cali stay.

Strategy¶

Base in San Antonio (near Toucan / Viajero / many studios) so cafés and short walks create repeat face-time.
One Pasajero module or Toucan private hours — plus at least one dance social or hostel activity evening.
Skip Gringo Tuesdays on this calendar; use it only if dates change.
Keep Spanish secondary to the Cali dance goal unless dance softens — Cali city → backup.
