Guatemala

Maya + colonial towns (Antigua, Atitlán, Tikal); sometimes combined with southern Mexico. Extra border / flight complexity for a short remaining window.

Weather in August — good time?

Usable, not ideal — rainy season, but workable if you plan mornings.

May–October is Guatemala’s rainy season: highland days often start clear, then afternoon storms; landscapes are green; fewer dry-season crowds. Antigua / highlands stay mild (~18–28°C); Petén / Tikal is hot and humid, with muddy trails after storms (Adventure Life, kimkim).

Bottom line: Fine for a flexible Antigua-centred few days; weaker than Brazil Southeast or highland Peru for “reliable dry weather,” and messier logistics than a single Mexico City hop.
