The map's JS lives in docs/route-map-init.js, loaded via extra_javascript in mkdocs.yml rather than inlined here — an inline <script> on this page used to silently never run when reached via an in-app link click (Material's navigation.instant splices in page content via XHR, and browsers don't execute scripts inserted that way; only a hard refresh or typed-URL load ever ran it). Map build notes

MapLibre GL JS experiment visualizing candidate WIP route ideas from Possible itinerary — a sandbox for the map-display approach, not held to this site's usual verified sources bar. Stop coordinates were geocoded via OpenStreetMap Nominatim / public aviation references — approximate map-plotting positions, not verified GPS pins. Ground-leg distances/times are openrouteservice routing estimates, not checked against any bus/tour operator. The Salento → Cocora leg falls back to a straight line (ORS returned no route for that coordinate pair — likely the geocoded point isn't quite on a road ORS considers reachable; worth refining later). Regenerate the underlying GeoJSON with scripts/build_route_map.py (see the script's own header for how — it needs a local ORS_API_KEY env var, never committed).
