Overview¶
~3–4 days, after Bogotá — see full itinerary
Gateway city detail: Armenia (AXM).
Focus¶
Salento / Filandia / Pereira / Armenia — the coffee-growing axis, UNESCO cultural landscape. Small, colourful colonial towns for overnight; Armenia is mainly the Quindío capital / AXM gateway (see that page). This leg is for nature and relaxation rather than nightlife or dance.
Getting there¶
Fly Bogotá → Pereira (PEI) or Armenia (AXM) — see Internal transfers · Logistics → internal flights. Optional Caldas day: Manizales.
Base¶
Salento or Filandia — small colourful towns, walkable, good base for Cocora Valley. Use Pereira / Armenia for airport timing or a city hotel night if needed.
Things to do¶
- Cocora Valley — priority “wow” if you only do one big outdoor day (wax palms)
- Coffee farm visit — e.g. hosts’ Finca El Ocaso Mon morning; nice but more replaceable than Cocora
- Explore Salento/Filandia town squares and viewpoints (good after a morning finca)
- Optional: half-day in Armenia on a fly day
- Skip Los Nevados unless rebasing to Manizales — see Manizales → Los Nevados
Hosts’ short block + decisions: Coffee with hosts.
Dance¶
Minimal here by design — this leg is for nature/relaxation, not dance. See Dance opportunities for where the dance focus actually sits (Bogotá, Medellín, Cali).
